Summary

Mathematics is regarded as the language of the universe.

Our world is made up of patterns and sequences: day becomes night, days form week, weeks form month, months form year, landscapes being constantly altered, and many other patterns and sequences.

The main reason why Mathematics started was as a result of the curiosity to make sense of these natural patterns.

The basic concept of Mathematics which are space and quantity are hard wired into our brains. Animals have a sense of distance and number, accessing when their pack is outnumbered, whether to fight or run for their lives , calculating when their prey is within striking range(distance) and so on.

Man uses this concept of Mathematics also in counting , building , stating time , calculating distance and also finding the size or weight.

In conclusion, understanding Mathematics is the difference between life and death.
