This form the fulcrum of what Literature stands for; using language in a special way that can be passed across through the oral or as developed into writing. It is the writing system that constitutes the necessary focus of Literature as a field of study in our modern time though studies of the oral form of literature are still very much carried out especially by scholars in literary studies. It is the typologies of the genres and their elements with textual references that thus become the focal point of the studies in Literature.
